Stealing Santa’s Cookies

Christmas Eve 2018 I had an epiphany.

My daughter was used to me staging photoshoots for her over the years.  As an amateur photographer I was always looking to learn, improve, and capture precious memories.  

That year my daughter was in her Jingle Jammies, Santa’s cookies were made, the glass of milk was out and we couldn't forget the carrots for the reindeer.  She really wanted to try one of Santa’s cookies.

This was the most fun shoot yet for my little mini-me.  She sat in the glow of the Christmas tree lights, sampled each one of the cookies and took a big gulp of Santa’s milk.  The pup also got to enjoy nibbles of the reindeer’s carrots.

Some years she was excited, some years she only tolerated it because she wanted the cookies, and some years she was even sick.  But at 12 years old she still talks about this being one of her favorite traditions.

Buy the jammies, bake the cookies, and take the pictures.  It will be one of your favorite things you do with your littles this year (or even as adults as a funny family photo for Christmas cards!).
